A 'Berry' Fun Gift Idea with Printable Tags

In my last post, Strawberry Freezer Jam:  Less Sugar vs. Full Sugar, I compared Sure Jell's less and full sugar jam recipes to see which one I liked the best.

In this post I'll be sharing some ideas for packaging jam for gifts and 15 printable gift tags/labels (including two blank ones that can be personalized).

  Packaging Jam for a Gift

Print a large or small tag (depending on the size of the jar) onto photo paper or heavy card stock, cut around it, tape it to the middle of the jar lid, and then screw the lid on.  It helps to hold the center down with your finger.

Wrap a ribbon around the jar ring, place a dab of glue in the middle of the ribbon to hold it in place, then overlap the ribbon ends and glue them to the ring.  If the ribbon is too wide, you can try folding it in half first before you glue it on.  You can also cut out a circle of cello wrap to place over the printed label in the center to protect it if you want.

Wrap cello wrap around the jam and then tie the tag on with a ribbon.

Teacher Thank You
Use this tag for any and all teachers...piano, dance, church, school, etc.

 For Any Occasion
Even an ordinary reusable plastic container looks better with some cello wrap and a ribbon.

Simply tape or glue the labels on to any container or jar for a quick label....

...or tie a tag on with curling ribbon.

Jam straight from the freezer

One of my sisters told me about these stackable freezer jars for jam. She said she loves them because they stack and lock together and also look nice. They were out of stock when I was looking for jam containers, or I would have bought some to try.   I'm sure they would look great wrapped in cello with a purple ribbon and tag.

Friend Thank You
Use this tag for a friend that has helped you through a difficult time.
I hope you like the poem, I thought really hard to come up with it.  Okay, not that hard. :)

Christmas Gift--Plan ahead
If you make jam in the fall when strawberries are in season again and a good price and if you have the freezer space, you could give jam and a loaf of bread to your neighbors and friends for Christmas.  I think that even the person who 'has everything' would really enjoy a warm slice of bread with some homemade jam.

Printable Labels and Tags
 For Personal Use Only

  • The blank tags can be personalized for any gift or occasion.
  • Punch a hole at the top to use as a tag, or cut the round part off to use as a label.

This image needs to be printed as an 8x10 for the tags to be the right size for the jars.  (The large circle tag will fit a wide-mouthed canning jar lid and the small circle will fit the regular size lids.  The tags are a bit smaller than the lid.)
You can click on the link above to print it from Google Docs as an 8x10, or if you'd like to print only a few of the tags, you will need to insert the image above into an editing program (Photoshop, Microsoft Word/Publisher), size it to an 8x10 and then crop to the tag you want to print.

To download: You must first click on the image to open it in a new window in it's highest resolution. Right click on the image and either copy and paste it into a document (to size and then print), or click on save image as to save it to your computer. You will need to size it before you print.
To size the prints:  Insert the image into a document, click on it, then using the side rulers, drag the sides of the image to the size that you want.

More Tags!
I thought you might like some more color choices.

(The first page of labels will fit pint jars, the second page will fit quart jars.)

I hope you enjoy the tags, I had fun making them!
