Halloween Fish? Say what?

Years ago, before there were craft blogs packed with ideas, Silhouette and Cricut machines to do our cutting, and fancy shmancy printers,  I was asked to be in charge of putting together a fishing pond for our neighborhood Halloween Carnival.  Okay, it was only around 6 years ago, I'm not that old, but I didn't have any of those things at the time. ;)

What I did have was construction paper, scissors, and a determination to make a fishing pond that was unusual and fun.

This is how the idea came about for
 'Halloween Fish'.

It all started with this one here...'Jack 'O Fish'...
(Okay, so it looks like a basketball, I tried.)

 ...then'Cat Fish'...

...then 'Spiderfish'...
(Yes, I know he's missing a leg, but that happens sometimes, right? I'm sure it's around here somewhere...)

...'Ghostopus'...
(He's seen better days too, but you get the idea.)

...and 'Moonfish'.
(Remember, these were the freehand days, don't be looking too closely!)

...and here they are all together on a very wrinkled sheet.
(Umm...a...just think of the wrinkles as ripples in the water.)
If you want to make these to decorate a fishing pond for your childs' classroom party, or for a neighborhood carnival, they really aren't that difficult to make.  I traced around a salad plate to get the round part of the fish, added fins, and then used it as a template to make the other fish.  With all of the great resources we have now, I'm positive you could make them look a lot cuter, much much cuter!

Although these fish have seen better days (we use them every year), I thought it was still worth passing the idea on. :)

I'm curious, have you seen 'Halloween fish' before?  Do you have any fun ideas for fishing ponds/carnival games?

EDITED TO ADD:  I'm working on scanning in the fish so they can be printed out on your fancy shmancy printers. :)  Please check back if you're interested.  I should have them on by Friday!
They're Ready!

To copy the fish, click on an image and wait for it to load.  Right click on it and either click copy, to copy and paste it into a document, or click save picture as, to save it to your computer.  You can size them to however big you want them to be.  My fish are around 9"x12" and the 'Ghostopus' is about twice that.  Where that size would take a lot of ink to print, I think it would also be fun to print them smaller and have a few more fish, just a thought.

I'm happy to share the images with you and hope it will make your fishing pond a fun one!  Feel free to leave me a comment if you copy them, I'd love to know they're being used. :)

EDITED TO ADD:   Click here for another free Halloween Fishing Game printable.

How fun! I love them! And I love that they are totally original and not 'perfectly' cut out or designed. ;) I do love my cricut, but it's fun to have real 'handmade' stuff! :) You did a great job! :) Thanks for sharing!

You've saved me! Our church is doing a little Halloween Carnival, and they asked me to do a "fishing pond". But, it's Halloween, so I was trying to figure out how to make it Halloween-y! Thank you, Thank you!

THANK YOU for sharing this!! I am in charge of a 200 person halloween party and all the games and don't have time to come up with everything myself. I googled "Hallween Fish" hoping some wonderful person had already created what I was looking for and found this post. THANK YOU!! This is perfect!
